  STOP SPAM

CrossLink's Webmail can be used to view your Email before it is downloaded to your computer's browser. You can also use Webmail to read, file and send Email online from any computer in the world. To use Webmail click on the link in this paragraph.

To access Webmail enter your login which is the part of your CrossLink Email address before the @crosslink.net. Then you enter your CrossLink password in the password field. To send an Email direct from the Webmail page click on the Compose field at the top of the page. To check your Email click on the Folders field at the top of the page.

All incoming mail, not filtered by the spam filter, goes to your INBOX. Click on INBOX to see all new Email. You can click on any Email you want to read and then either delete it or leave it. Email left in your INBOX will be downloaded to your computer if your Email software is set to ask for it. When you ask for an Email to be deleted a red X appears. When you press Purge Deleted at the bottom of the page, all Emailed marked with a red X is deleted.

You can create folders to move good mail to by pressing the create folder option at the top of the folders page. Enter the name you want to give the folder and hit save. To move files to the new folder go to your INBOX and click on the empty box to the left of the Emails that you want to move, to mark them. After marking all Emails you want to move go to the bottom of the page. To make a copy of Emails in the folder you created, click on copy and then the folder name. The original stays in your INBOX. To move Emails from your INBOX to your new folder click on MOVE and on the name of the folder you want to move Email to. This will move the Email and mark the original copy in your INBOX to be deleted.

If almost all Email in your INBOX box is Spam, click on Mark all in the upper right side of the page. Then look at each Email in the list and click on the mark box to the left of the line of any Email you do not want to delete. On the bottom of the page on the line with the description deleted click on SET. This will place a red X by every Email you marked to delete. To delete these Emails hit the Purge Deleted button at the bottom of the page. Once Email is deleted from Webmail it is gone forever and can NOT be recovered.

CrossLink's Spam Filter will do exactly what you tell it to do. All Email gets a spam score. All Email below the spam score you set goes to your INBOX. All Email equal to or above the score you set goes to your possible spam folder. You can go to your possible spam folder at any time and see all the Email in it. If you find a lot of good Emails you may want to make the spam score for your filter higher. If you find no good Emails you may want to set the spam score for your filter lower.

To set your spam filter, click on the link above. Enter your full Email address to login (For example, jdoe@crosslink.net). Then enter your password. The [HELP] field includes directions on how to use the filter.

The "White List / Black List" field allows you to tell the filter to always accept Emails from people you put on your White List and to never accept Emails from people you add to your Black List.

Click on the Settings field to tell your Spam filter how to work for you. Under Miscellaneous Settings click on Yes, Yes, 50 and English to answer all four questions.

Under Email Addresses click on your Email address. In the light green area click on Discarded to delete any Email with a virus that can harm your computer. In the pink area click on Enabled to turn your filter on, Quarantined to save possible spam Email in a Quarantined folder for your review; click Yes to label possible spam; enter 4.000 to label all Email with a spam score over 4.000 as possible spam; enter 4.000 to move all Email with a spam score over 4.000 to your possible spam folder. In the purple and orange areas click on Enabled to check for attachments that may be dangerous (have a worm or virus) or Email with bad headers that are almost always spam. Then for each area click on Quarantined to save these Emails in a Quarantined Folder.

Go back to your Spam Filter Welcome page (first page that displays when you go to the Spam filter). Go to the right column and in the pink line click on Report/Rescue to see all the Emails that have been saved in your Possible Spam folder. You can read an Email by clicking on the Email subject in blue in the center column. Do not click the Confirm The Status button at the top or bottom of the page until you have saved all Emails that are Non-Spam by clicking on the button in the next to last Non-Spam column. When you click on the Confirm the Status button Emails checked as spam will be deleted and lost forever. All Email marked as Non-Spam will go to your good Email folder and will appear in your Webmail page or be downloaded to your computer.

Use your spam filter for several days. If you find too many good Emails in your filter go to the Settings link and increase the 4.000 number to a higher number. If you find no good Emails in your filter go to your Settings link and decrease the spam score from 4.000 to something lower but not less than 1.400.
