Tips to Remember When Changing E-mail Server Settings
1. Enter all server information in lower case letters.

2. Be very careful to spell the server settings correctly. It is very common for folks to transpose the letters for the SMTP server. Be sure you enter those letters as s m t p DON'T MIX THEM UP!

3. Outgoing Servers are usually the same for all e-mail accounts. So if you have more than one e-mail account setup on your computer, you will need to make sure that the Outgoing (SMTP)Server setting is the same on all accounts to avoid getting error messages.

4. Some E-mail programs can be a little touchy when settings are changed. MS Outlook for example "may" need to be restarted in order for the changes to take effect. As a general rule, once you have made your changes, close your program and reopen it. (You don't need to restart your computer but, if your computer is being resistant to change, restarting it may encourage it to take the setting change better.)
